Aggregato clamp-on lamp, designed by Enzo Mari in collaboration with Giancarlo Fassina for the Milanese company Artemide, 1974.
The Aggregato is a truly modular lighting system made up of eleven basic components, allowing for the assembly of 72 different lamp models to suit various needs and preferences. A utopian vision realized by Enzo Mari and Artemide's founder, Ernesto Gismondi—giving the public the freedom to create their own lighting fixture from simple, universal elements.
This version, with its clamp-on mounting for tabletops or desks, its spherical gray plastic shade, and its metal structure, perfectly illustrates Mari's approach: a radical, functional, and timeless design. Original mechanism in working order; slight oxidation on the metal is inherent to the piece's age.
