Aggregato clamp-on lamp, designed by Enzo Mari in collaboration with Giancarlo Fassina for the Milanese company Artemide, 1974. Artemide marking visible on the piece.
The Aggregato is a truly modular lighting system designed from eleven basic components, allowing for the assembly of 72 different lamp models to suit various needs and preferences. A utopian vision realized by Enzo Mari and Artemide's founder, Ernesto Gismondi—giving the public the freedom to create their own lighting fixture from simple, universal elements. From these eleven basic pieces, users can assemble 72 different configurations, from ceiling lights to table lamps and wall sconces.
This version, designed for clamping onto a tabletop or desk, with its spherical white plastic shade and metal structure, perfectly illustrates Mari's approach: radical, functional, and timeless design. Original, functional equipment; slight oxidation on the metal is inherent to the age of the piece.
