Description
Agatha Ruiz de la Prada (born 1960) is a renowned Spanish entrepreneur, artist, stylist, and designer. The daughter of a noblewoman and an architect and art collector, Agatha grew up in a highly artistic environment. Her father's collection included works by Andy Warhol and Miró, artists who would greatly influence her own creative work.
After successfully graduating from art and fashion school in Barcelona, the young designer worked in the Madrid studio of designer Pepe Rubio. At the same time, she became an active member of the Madrid Movida movement. The Movida Madrileña was a punk-inspired urban cultural movement of the early post-Franco era. Its most famous member was the renowned film director Pedro Almodóvar. Fueled by the newfound freedom after Franco's death, the movement embodied exuberance and hedonism. This children's furniture set is firmly rooted in this tradition. The iconic heart motif and rainbow colors are recurring elements in the designer's work. They represent love, passion, and the boldness to embrace life in all its vibrant colors.
