African mask symbolizing a buffalo, carved from wood. Originating in Nigeria, handcrafted, likely in the second half of the 20th century. Traditionally, this mask is worn by men of the Mama ethnic group during fertility festivals (for agriculture or women).
Very good condition (antique patina, slight rubbing on the edges, one broken horn very well repaired, barely visible seam on the front).
Dimensions: 25.5 x 12 x 36 cm
Weight: 540g
An authentic and highly original object with clean, raw lines. Currently designed to be hung, I can add a metal and/or wooden stand. The mask can also stand upright and be placed on a surface.
