This beautiful sculpture of an Afghan Hound was created by the Dutch artist Annette Sonneville (signed on the rim). Although not much is known about Annette, some of her sculptures can be found on online vintage sales platforms in the Netherlands and neighboring countries. They are all beautiful works of art. On one of those sites, I found a photo of Annette; the style of the photo and her age in the image lead me to suspect that she may no longer be alive. But her legacy lives on in her art, that is certain.
This particular artwork is simply beautiful. I consider Afghan Hounds to be an elegant breed in their own right, and that elegance is perfectly captured in this sculpture. The sculpture is still in excellent condition.
