Product description
A detailed ceramic "Puits Aux Oiseaux" (Bird Well) from the French studio Aegitna (Vallauris). The object is executed in a traditional barbotine/majolica style, based on the iconic 19th-century design by Jérôme Massier. Condition and Features: Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The bird beaks, tails, and the bucket are completely intact and free of chips or restorations. Originality: A very rare detail is that the original suspension wire of the bucket is still fully present and intact after sixty years. Note: There is a small production crack on the inside of the well (fireplace defect). This is invisible from the outside and does not affect the structural integrity. Markings: The underside bears the authentic, pressed factory stamp: "Aegitna Vallauris A.M." (Alpes-Maritimes). Specifications: Origin: Vallauris, France (Atelier Placide Joseph Saltalamacchia) Period: 1950s / 1960s Material: Glazed Earthenware / Barbotine The object will be packed extremely securely and double-protected in shock-absorbing material (bubble wrap) for transport.
