Adonis (Ancient Greek: Αδωνις) is a figure from Greek and Phoenician mythology. The name of this deity simply comes from the Phoenician word Adon, meaning "lord."
An Adonis is an unusually handsome young man named after the beautiful king's son from Cyprus.
Adonis symbolizes the vegetation that emerges from the ground every spring, covering the earth with beautiful leaves and flowers and making birds sing.
Originally by the artist Césaro, it is now cast in bronze and signed by the artist Milo.
The base is made of brown-beige veined natural stone.
