Voorhout, NetherlandsView all items from this sellerWelcome! You have just looked at a beautiful rare mid-century white porcelain Art Deco set designed by A.D. Copier for Eschenbach Bavaria Germany. Most admirers read it as AZC which is incorrect. It is ADC.
The set consists of 1 large soup tureen,
3 vegetable/potato/salad tureens and 3 serving platters.

The whole set is in a very good vintage condition. Two spots of wearing. One at the wavy plate and one at the vegetable tureen. These two minor spots have been enlarged on the photos.
Andries Dirk Copier - 1901-1991 - is considered the most important Dutch (glass) artist of the 20th century. Copier’s work was influenced by the most recent technical discoveries, resulting in personal contemporary designs. In the early days of his career he was appointed as designer at the Leerdam Glasfabriek (Leerdam Glassworks) where he got the freedom to experiment. Together with his team he discovered a wide range of techniques for both utility and one-off ‘Unica’ pieces. Furthermore, Copiers designed for the Eschenbach brand. One of the leading brands of the German porcelain industry. Based upon this experience, Eschenbach specializes in manufacturing high-quality porcelain for hotels and restaurants for many decades. The brand originates from the Bavarian town Windischeschenbach. The major shareholder was the 'Winterling' company.
