BODEGÓN CON FONDO AZUL (Bottle with Blue Background) is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. This work revisits the classic bodegón tradition, but with a fresh, clean, and intensely chromatic approach. Two flower vases and a small fruit basket are simply arranged on a white surface; however, behind this seemingly simple arrangement emerges a painting of great visual intensity, supported by a deep blue background that envelops the entire scene and makes it almost luminous.
The blue is the true silent protagonist here. It functions not merely as a neutral background, but as a vibrant mass of color that propels each object forward and amplifies its presence. Against this intense surface, the red, yellow, and coral flowers acquire extraordinary vibrancy, while the greens of the stems and the basket engage in a harmonious dialogue.
