Dating: ca. 1970 – 1990
Provenance: Purchased via art rental
Description
Abstract vertical wooden sculpture constructed from two parallel elements connected in the middle by an organically elaborated form. In the center, an almost figurative structure emerges reminiscent of a torso or face shape, causing the work to balance between abstraction and figuration.
The sculpture is formed from a single block of wood and combines clean geometric lines with soft, hand-carved curves. The warm wood color and visible grain enhance the sculptural character. This type of sculpture was widely produced by Dutch sculptors in the 1970s–1990s and often circulated through art rental collections, where artists made work available for long-term rental.
Condition: Good condition. Minor natural cracking in the wood, consistent with solid wood and age.
Valuation by INBOEDELTAXATIES.NL €1,200
