A5-1300 Globe Wall Lamps by Raak Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 1970s. These elegant wall lights display the refined modernist aesthetic for which Raak Amsterdam became internationally renowned. The design features a striking black metal globe shade mounted against a white metal backplate, with chromed connecting elements providing a beautiful contrast between the different materials and colours. This particular pair is especially rare as it comes from new old stock. The lamps have never been installed or used and remain in excellent original condition. Even more remarkable, both examples retain their original Raak Amsterdam boxes, a feature seldom encountered more than fifty years after their production. Their unused condition makes them particularly attractive to collectors and enthusiasts of original Dutch design. When illuminated, the globe shades create a beautiful and atmospheric light effect, while the combination of the black globe, white backplate, and chromed details gives the design a distinctive graphic quality.
