Extremely rare floor lamp model A251 by Aldo van den Nieuwelaar for Artimeta – a Dutch design classic (1972)
This iconic floor lamp, model A251, was designed by renowned Dutch designer Aldo van den Nieuwelaar and manufactured by Artimeta Soest in 1972. Part of a series that included two table lamps (models A250 and A252), this floor lamp is widely considered the most elegantly proportioned of the three.
Featuring a minimalist and timeless design, the lamp consists of a white tubular metal base and a beautifully crafted opaline glass shade. When lit, it emits a soft, even glow that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for any interior.
An added rarity is the original pull cord, still attached to the lamp – a true collector’s treasure and hard to find in such good condition.
Van den Nieuwelaar was a pioneer of modernist design, known for his clean lines and functionality. Artimeta, the Dutch manufacturer, also produced his famous TC series in the same era, further cementing his legacy in the history of Dutch design.
The lamp is in excellent working condition with only minimal wear. A true collector’s item, this floor lamp represents a perfect fusion of form and function, making it a must-have for lovers of mid-century and minimalist design.
