80s Chair 'Nuova X-Line Omli' Niels Jørgen Haugesen x Hybodan
This beautiful, minimalist chair, called Omli, is from the Nova X-Line series, designed by Niels Jørgen Haugesen for Danish furniture manufacturer Hybodan A/S. The first design, the 'X-Line,' was launched in the late 1970s and embodies the timeless minimalism of Scandinavian design. Haugesen then launched this improved version in the 1980s, the 'Nuova X-Line.' The chair features a chrome-plated metal frame and a perforated white metal seat and backrest.
Niels Jørgen Haugesen is, alongside Arne Jacobsen, one of Denmark's leading designers. After graduating from the Danish School of Art and Design, Haugesen apprenticed with Jacobsen. Jacobsen's influence is clearly visible in Haugesen's designs. Haugesen combines visual openness with a clear structure in his designs. These design principles make all his designs modern and timeless, just like this chair from the X-Line series!
The chair has minimal signs of wear, such as small scratches/discoloration and patina. However, considering its age, the chair is still in fantastic condition!
