Set of 8 Art Deco champagne glasses from 1930. Originating from the glass factory of the St Mesmin chapel. The glass has geometric feet with 4 gold rims above. Stamped "Made in France" under each glass.
Brief History:
Founded in 1927 by the Desseaux family to manufacture vinegar bottles, the glassworks was sold in 1931 to the famous perfumer and industrialist François Coty (1874-1934). After huge investments, the enlarged, modernized and renamed glassworks "Société des Verreries de la Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin" will manufacture mainly perfume bottles and, in addition, "cup articles," namely glassware for the table (glasses, decanters) up to its production. Sale after 1934 to today's Duralex group.
