Special set of 6 dining room chairs designed by A.A. Patijn for Zijlstra in Joure. The chairs were produced in the 1950s - 1960s of the last century. Patijn's furniture was known for the revolutionary use of materials, such as the bending of the wood, the joints and the then special application of gluing. The seats have new webbing, new foam and reupholstered with a blue removable fabric. The upholstery of the seats is also special. The fabric runs down between the woodwork of the seat and the back and on the sides the fabric is folded around the frame in a unique way. The woodwork shows signs of wear in accordance with its age in the form of scratches and small imperfections.
