Beautiful and charming enamelled Lotus frying pan with original lid, produced in the 1960s by the Norwegian enamel company Cathrineholm. The company produced a variety of utility ware over the decades. Their most successful line came to market in the 1960s with the popular "Lotus" series, a Mid-Century Modern design. The main artist behind Cathrineholm's Lotus enamel work was Grete Prytz Kittelsen. She designed the shapes and colours of the bowls, and Arne Clausen designed the iconic lotus leaf that the factory added around 1963.
This pan is decorated with their iconic turquoise lotus motif on a white background. It has a few historical chips to the enamel finish here and there (as can be seen in the photos), which only adds to its charm. Clean inside and still functional.
