This is top Belgian design! For sale is this set of 6 vintage "Paola" model chairs from 1961. They were designed by Oswald Vermaercke and produced by V-Form in Deinze (Belgium). They were part of the prestigious series named after the then Princess and future Queen Paola, who had just been introduced to the Belgian people that year as the fiancée of Prince (later King) Albert.
The frame of these chairs is made of solid teak and the backrest of laminated teak, which has been bent into an organic shape.
The chairs have been fully and carefully restored with respect for their age and history. They are therefore not new, but very solid, technically sound, and "beautifully old". The wood was double-treated with boiled linseed oil, and all chairs were reupholstered by a professional upholsterer in Kortrijk with a soft and contrasting bouclé fabric in a cream-white color. They are also all fitted with new felt glides. You can watch the following video to see how that transformation from old to new took place. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/14XBix7mXvr/
The chairs can be viewed and picked up in Kortrijk (B).
