Rare set of five Campari bitter glasses of the „Greca“ model, designed by Matteo Thun and produced in 1986 by Alessi in collaboration with Campari. The glasses combine a slender, cylindrical goblet shape with a striking, wide base, whose surrounding geometric meander relief gives the design its name and its distinctive postmodern effect. The 1986 version and the collaboration between Alessi and Campari are documented for this model. A surrounding, frosted Campari decor adds a subtle graphic accent to the clear glass. Particularly beautiful is the interplay of classic-looking Greek ornament, reduced glass shape, and the experimental Italian design aesthetic of the 1980s. The set is offered with the original Campari box for six glasses. Included are five fully preserved glasses – making the ensemble a particularly attractive collector's item for lovers of Matteo Thun, Alessi, Campari, and Italian Postmodern Design, despite the sixth version being missing today.
