Product description
Set of 6 Gispen chairs, model 1231, designed by Andre Cordemeyer, Gispen Design Agency, circa 1960.
Unlike model 1235, model 1231 is designed without armrests.
The seat and backrest are still upholstered in the original blue leatherette. The backrest features the familiar, attractive and convenient handle and heavy-duty quality (weighs 6 kg per chair), characteristic of Gispen chairs.
A beautiful retro chair that fits into both modern and classic interiors.
The chairs have been repainted (originally painted gray).
Dimensions: H x W x D = 79 x 44 x 53 cm, seat height = 47 cm.
The leatherette seats of two chairs have minor damage (see images 9 and 10), and the paint around the handles is worn off (images 8 and 9). The rest is in good condition.
Some restoration is required, but for this price, and especially for six chairs, it's definitely worth it!
