Designer: Arne Jacobsen Manufacturer: Fritz Hansen Model: 3130 Country: Denmark Period: 1950s Materials: beech wood, fabric Condition: Good Width: 47cm Depth: 47cm Height: 77cm Exceptional set of 4 'Grand Prix' chairs designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen in 1957. In that year the chair was exhibited at the Triennale in Milan where it received the Grand Prix, the finest award of the exhibition. These chairs are actually first editions made of beech wood with a rare and original brown fabric. The first edition models can be recognized by the four legs mounted separately at the bottom of the shell in which the FH logo is stamped. In addition, these came with the original 1959 invoice to confirm this and remain in very good original condition with sturdy backrests. Great find and true collectibles.
