There is something deliciously French about this antique tableware, a familiar elegance that evokes carefully set tables and pieces willingly brought out for fine lunches. This set comprises four dinner plates made of fine Digoin & Sarreguemines earthenware. Their slightly undulating shape softens the lines, while small bouquets of red and blue roses lightly punctuate the rim. A delicate gilded border outlines the perimeter and accompanies the flowers without ever weighing down the overall design. Produced in the first half of the 20th century, around , they bear on the reverse the Digoin & Sarreguemines France mark with a crowned crest. With a diameter of approximately 24 cm, they have retained that particular charm of antique tableware which today offers complete freedom of use. Time has left a few discreet marks and slightly patinated the gilding in places. Nothing that diminishes their elegance, quite the contrary. These four plates have already graced many tables and seem quite ready to return to service for a few more decades.
