With its evocative name and generous large roses, the Cannes pattern is one of those Digoin Sarreguemines designs that immediately commands a true presence on the table. This set includes four French earthenware deep plates, adorned in the center with large roses rendered in deep burgundy and old rose tones. The blue foliage creates a particularly successful contrast, while a pale blue frieze, composed of arches and small geometric motifs, frames the well of the plate like a delicate lace border. The stencil-applied decor has that slightly softened quality characteristic of productions from that era. The shades overlap, the outlines remain soft, and the flowers almost take on the appearance of a painted decoration. Produced by Digoin Sarreguemines in the 1940s, they bear the manufacturer's mark and the name Cannes on the reverse. With a diameter of approximately 22 cm, they are in very good general condition, with the subtle traces of time naturally linked to their history.
