French porcelain from the interwar period produced tableware of great delicacy, where the milky white of the paste serves as a setting for delicate floral decorations, printed and enhanced with remarkable care. These 4 dessert plates are a beautiful example of this. On a pure white background, a central bouquet combines rose-mauve thistles with finely serrated olive-green leaves, blue campanulas with winding stems, and still-closed buds. The same motif, reduced, is found on the rim at four symmetrical points, giving the set a balanced and elegant composition. A silver line runs along the edge, highlighting the shape without weighing it down. The decoration, polychrome printed underglaze, exhibits the transparency and chromatic softness characteristic of the best French productions from the 1920s-1950s. The reverse is white, with no identifiable manufacturer's mark. The quality of the porcelain, the whiteness of the paste, and the delicacy of the decoration attest to careful production, very certainly French. Diameter: 22 cm. Very good overall condition on all 4 plates. A harmonious and charming set, for a French-style table or a collection of botanical porcelain.
