Set of two vintage Penguin armchairs designed by German icon Carl Sasse for the German quality brand Casala, 1960s.
Beautiful, rare set. Solid beechwood frame, beautifully organically shaped. The model is named after a penguin, and this is clearly reflected in the design. Graceful rounded edges and beautiful visible wood grain. The frames are structurally sound and in solid condition.
The set is upholstered in the original brown velvet upholstery with subtle ribbing. This is still in very good condition with no worn spots. The back has elegant rivets, a nice detail. A beautiful set of eye-catching pieces in very good condition.
