Product description
These two early productions of the iconic Bauhaus B64 chairs are finished in beautiful warm walnut color. Marked at the bottom with the letter P., referring to the Hague furniture factory Pander.
Chrome tubular frame in good condition, one of the 2 seats has minor damage in the webbing that does not affect seating comfort.
Marcel Breuer designed this model Cesca Chair in 1928 with comfort in mind. Like his progressive Wassily Chair (1925), the Cesca Chair is made of tubular steel. The chair was named "Cesca" in tribute to his daughter Francesca and was never patented, explains a 1991 New York Times article. "Although Breuer signed a contract with Knoll Group, his design has always remained in the public domain," the group's vice president of design noted at the time.
The paint and chrome have some signs of use, the webbing seat of one chair is in fine condition, the other has some minor damage. This does not affect the seating comfort, but should be mentioned.
