Description:
At the end of the 1920s, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe was commissioned by the Tugendhat couple to design a villa in Brno (Brno, Hungary). The budget did not play a role - Mies van der Rohe had complete freedom in terms of both the architecture and the interior design. For this villa, Mies van der Rohe then designed, among other things, a cantilever chair in a flat steel and a tubular steel version, which was later given the name of the city.

The photos are exposed in high light so that the 1a condition is also visible in detail! Colors are generally brighter as a result. The shadow areas or the areas not directly illuminated by the photo light best reflect the natural color tones. Gloss on the photos or grayish or milky areas are also due to exposure or lighting (reflections). The surfaces are silk matt to silk gloss.

Condition:
A little treasure that you rarely get. The two chairs were stored for more than 2 decades. They are technically and visually in an impeccable and very good condition and have only very minor signs of use. Essentially, there are only very slight streaks on the horizontal runners from putting the feet down. These characteristics occur after a short time due to the design. In no way comparable with the usual scratches and blemishes of the Büro Brno chairs offered on the web. The leather is top quality and has no stains, scratches, tears or holes and is completely odorless. The armrests are like new and do not have the usual scuffs and scratches.

TRANSPORT:
We have found that transportation by Whoppah courier is sometimes considerably (100-150%) above the market price of the usual furniture removal companies and furniture couriers! We can organize a cheaper transport within Germany, to the Netherlands, to neighbouring German countries or an EU transport for you if necessary. Inexpensive non-EU transportation by general cargo forwarder in a special wooden crate may also be possible.
