The Bofinger chair, also called BA 1171, was designed in 1964 by architect and designer Helmut Bätzner. The Bofinger stacking chair was developed into the world's first one-piece plastic chair made of glass fiber reinforced polyester that was mass-produced in a single pressing process over a steel mould. The Bofinger chair is considered one of the most important classics in modern furniture design history. The chairs are in good condition. There are some cracks in the plastic which correspond to its age.
