Set of 2 Bořek Šípek “Maletak” Lounge Chairs for Maletti, 1990s
Exceptional and rare set of two “Maletak” lounge chairs, designed by Bořek Šípek and manufactured by Maletti in the 1990s.
These chairs are a striking example of Šípek’s unmistakable postmodern design language, combining sculptural form, playful elegance, and a highly distinctive silhouette. The flowing side panels with subtle button-tufted detailing, the refined armrests, and the gracefully cast aluminum legs give the design a theatrical yet balanced presence.
Executed in a combination of plastic, cast aluminum, and black leather, the chairs offer a beautiful contrast between soft upholstery and sculptural structure. Both visually expressive and comfortable, they work equally well in a sophisticated residential interior, gallery setting, reception area, or design-focused commercial space.
The set is in very good vintage condition, showing light signs of use consistent with age. They present beautifully and remain highly decorative from every angle.
