WILLEM HAGOORT MODEL 28.621 WALL LAMP — NETHERLANDS, 1950s
An exceptional piece of Dutch modernist lighting design.
Designed by Willem Hagoort in the 1950s, this rare Model 28.621 arc wall lamp is a striking example of post-war innovation in lighting. Its ingenious counterbalance system allows for smooth adjustment of both the height and projection of the shade, combining functionality with sculptural elegance.
The lamp features a vertical teakwood wall mount, a nickel-plated steel arm, and a black metal shade with refined accents: a teakwood finial, a brass (messing) ring, and a delicately perforated openwork design at the tip of the shade. The contrasting materials—warm wood, cool metal, and matte black—capture the essence of mid-century Dutch design.
Manufactured in the Netherlands, this model remains exceptionally rare and is considered one of Hagoort’s most iconic lighting designs.
A timeless and functional statement piece, ideal for design collectors and interiors seeking authenticity and understated sophistication.
It is in very good vintage condition, with minimal signs of age and wear.
