This large set brings together twenty-five knives with blond horn handles, from the Chabrier cutlery workshop located on Rue de la République in Saint-Denis. The set includes twelve large table knives, twelve small appetizer or dessert knives, and a matching cheese knife. Manufacture dates back to the first half of the 20th century, between the 1930s and 1950s. The handles are carved from translucent blond horn with honey and amber hues, each piece showcasing its own veins and nuances. No two are identical, which gives the set a special warmth and vibrancy. The stainless steel blades bear the oval cartouche "ACIER S.T INOXYDABLE," a testament to the quality sought after at the time. The original box, covered with a brown crocodile-effect finish, retains its cream canvas interior and the golden stamp of Chabrier cutlers under the lid. It shows some signs of use consistent with its age, while the blades and handles remain in very good condition. One can imagine this box open at the center of a large dinner table, the blond horn catching the golden light of a dinner, each handle displaying its own shade of honey.
