Very rare pair of table lamps from the German ceramics manufacturer Carstens Tönnieshof, which was internationally renowned for its high-quality products and special design in the era of "West German Pottery". The lamps from the 1970s were acquired first-hand from an estate and are in immaculate condition. The electrics - red fabric cable with switch and plug (for 220 volts) and the E27 socket have been renewed and checked by a specialist - are therefore as good as new. A pair of lamps from this period in this quality is extremely rare. Both shades were no longer usable and were remade from a high-quality French semi-panama fabric with a coral motif in blue and red decorative ribbons. The dimensions: Lamp overall with shade: H 88 cm, ⌀ 30 (width of shade), lamp base: H 49, ⌀ bottom 17 cm, shade: ⌀ 30 x H 39 cm. The lamps are open at the bottom and therefore do not have the usual base markings for this type of ceramic. The brand sticker was no longer present. The shape of the ceramic and the original structure of the base are very familiar to us from Carstens Tönnieshof. This was confirmed by research into vases from the same decorative series. A comparable pair of lamps with this decoration could not be found, which again confirms the rarity of the objects. We always identify marks to the best of our knowledge and with great care, but in many cases there is no 100% certainty.
