These armchairs, designed by Svend Aage Eriksen, beautifully demonstrate the lightness and elegance of Danish design. The combination of a warm wooden frame and a light, coarsely woven upholstery fabric gives the armchairs a calm, inviting feel without making them appear heavy in the room.
The finely crafted armrests are particularly lovely. They taper gracefully to the front, are softly rounded, and blend seamlessly into the frame. The side view is also very well-balanced: the backrest is slightly reclined, the seat rests comfortably within the frame, and the wooden frame, despite its clean lines, retains a pleasingly delicate appearance.
The back is equally well-designed. Behind the upholstery are several vertical wooden slats that give the armchair structure and allow it to look good even when placed freely in the room.
