Two sturdy chairs made of thick plywood and birch, marked Lydar by IKEA, manufactured in 1999 in Lithuania, are incredibly solidly made; indestructible. I could hardly believe it was IKEA, as they are mainly secured with standard hardware. Extra sturdy metal tubing at the bottom. They look smaller than they are; an adult sits on them perfectly fine. Also nice: the curved back references the iconic Thonet café chairs. A very cool set for a budding collector or young couples living together. This set of two vintage IKEA Lydar chairs brings a playful, postmodern aesthetic from the 90s to your interior. The chairs stand out due to their distinctive curved wooden backrest and the striking perforated pattern in the seat, giving them a unique and recognizable character. The chairs are crafted from sturdy bentwood in a light, natural shade. The construction demonstrates the solidity this model is known for, with robust legs and a comfortable seat shape. The design combines clean lines with organic curves, typical of the design movement of that decade. Both chairs are in beautiful vintage condition, with the original finish well preserved. They display the character befitting their age, which contributes to their authentic appearance. This set fits perfectly in an eclectic, Scandinavian, or postmodern interior. They are ideal as striking dining chairs or as characterful occasional chairs in a living or workspace.
