The Panton Chair is a true design classic. Designed in 1960 by Verner Panton, it was further developed for serial production in collaboration with Vitra in 1967. It was the first chair made entirely of plastic in a single piece with a cantilever design. Since its market introduction, the Panton Chair has undergone several production phases. Vitra and Verner Panton worked closely together to develop a new version made of polypropylene, which was launched in 1999.
The comfort of this chair is due to its cantilever structure, made of lightweight, flexible material, and its characteristic shape, reminiscent of a human being. The chair can be used individually or in groups and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The Panton Chair has won numerous international design awards and is part of the collections of many prominent museums. Its expressive form has made it an icon of the twentieth century.
