This pair of modernist ceramic fish plates originates from the renowned G. Mazzotti studio in Albisola, Italy. The design features a distinctive square form with scalloped corners, showcasing the expressive hand-painted motifs characteristic of mid-century Italian ceramics.
Crafted from partly glazed ceramic, each plate presents a unique underwater scene with detailed fish, coral, and aquatic plant life. The colour palette incorporates natural tones of beige, green, blue, and subtle hints of red and brown. The plates are signed 'M.G.A' on the reverse, confirming their Albisola provenance.
Both pieces remain in highly presentable condition, retaining their original glaze and vivid coloration. The hand-painted details demonstrate the artisanal quality of the Mazzotti workshop.
