Two identical display cabinets from around 1900.
Both pieces are identical in construction, proportion, glazing, and finish and were made as a matching pair.
The special value of the display cabinets lies in their original, preserved glazing.
The door panels are made of gilded and frosted glass (verre églomisé). The ornamentation is applied beneath the glass surface and features clearly defined, symmetrical Art Nouveau motifs of high craftsmanship.
This type of glass decoration was produced exclusively by specialized workshops around the turn of the century and was reserved for high-end interiors. Original glazing of this type is now very rare.
The two display cabinets:
- are identical in all essential features
- originate from the same period and workshop
- are particularly effective when arranged symmetrically in spacious rooms
The condition is very good, with age-appropriate patina.
The glass is completely original, without any cracks or flaking of the gilding.
