There are tableware sets that, by themselves, embody a certain idea of the French art of living. This pair of relish dishes belongs to the Vigny model, created by the renowned Digoin et Sarreguemines factory in the 1950s, a period when table arts regained their full elegance after the war years. The eye is immediately drawn to the delicate botanical decor that adorns the bottom of each dish. Leaves, berries, and branches compose a scene inspired by undergrowth and autumn landscapes, rendered in subtle shades of pink, green, and gray. This decoration is enhanced by a generously sculpted form whose reliefs evoke the veins of a leaf. A fine gilded line outlines the edge and adds an extra touch of refinement. Founded in the 19th century, the Digoin et Sarreguemines factory is among the greatest names in French faience. Its creations have accompanied several generations and are today sought after for the quality of their craftsmanship as much as for their timeless designs. Each relish dish measures approximately 24 cm in length. Very good overall condition with slight signs of age consistent with their vintage, discreet and without affecting their elegance.
