On an oval support of crimson red velvet with clipped corners, two molded pewter medallions each depict a child's bust in finely detailed relief. The first plaque features a little girl in a wide-brimmed hat adorned with a daisy, with a dreamy, melancholic gaze. The second portrays a smiling little girl with her hair tied with a ribbon, holding a dove with outstretched wings. The relief is precise and well-detailed, and the matte pewter contrasts with the red velvet, creating a distinct decorative effect. On the reverse, one has a golden ring for hanging, the other a hinged stand. Height 22 cm, width 13 cm each. Good overall condition. French or Italian production from the 1960s-1970s. Placed on a shelf or hung as a pair, these plaques possess the quaint and endearing charm of period interiors. The red velvet and matte pewter catch the light with a particular softness.
