A little leather lesson: "Not all leather is created equal!!"
Please do not compare this leather with leather that has been artificially grained. Artificially grained leather is made by pressing the lower layers of the animal hide (split leather) through heated steel rollers. The rollers have a surface designed to mimic the natural grain of leather, creating an artificial grain (embossing) on the originally smooth leather through pressure and heat.
This artificially grained leather is very often used in leather furniture sold at so-called bargain prices, producer prices, direct purchase prices, etc., on Amazon and similar platforms (often made in China). This furniture is often advertised as "genuine leather," which is technically correct. This does not guarantee high quality; it is by no means a quality seal but simply indicates that it is not synthetic leather!
The leather is characterized by a fairly high degree of wear; with normal use, the grain disappears after some time. It also feels cold and often quite rubbery due to the heavy application of dye. The difference in quality is also reflected in the price. Tanneries charge only about a third of the price for high-quality leather, as it is essentially considered reject or third-rate goods.

The photos are overexposed to show the pristine condition in detail! The sheen in the photos and the grayish areas are due to lighting and reflections; in reality, the leather is satin-matte and deep black.

Condition:
The Joker Chair is in impeccable, excellent, and like-new original condition, both technically and visually. Such a piece is extremely rare and virtually impossible to find. The often-present blemishes and scratches on the chrome surface or on the corners and edges are nowhere to be found. The leather is also like new! Everything is in absolutely pristine condition. This is something for the discerning collector who has been searching for years. By far the best Joker Chair available on the market worldwide!
The chair comes from the home of an architect whose barely used upper floor was filled with design classics in pristine and like-new condition.
