Antique Syrian dowry chest from the 19th century, inlaid with mother of pearl and silver wire. In the Middle East, parents gave each of their daughters a dowry chest inlaid with mother of pearl as a wedding gift, full of household linens.
Height: 55 cm. Width: 130 cm. Depth: 52 cm. The top also originally had a black color but it has worn off over the years. Not all the pearl pieces and silver wire are still present. The lock is gone. Inside the case there are still 2 small storage compartments on the left and right. Origin: Syria, 19th century. Material: walnut, mother of pearl, silver wire.
