The “Modena” sideboard, designed by Frans Defour and produced in Belgium in the 1970s. A true Brutalist piece, crafted from stained solid oak, with a striking parquet-effect front. The pattern is graphic, almost architectural, and beautifully highlights the wood grain. This piece has presence without being ostentatious: clean lines, well-defined volumes, raw materials—everything we love about Brutalism. The interior is well-designed and functional: – shelves behind the side doors – two drawers in the right-hand section – practical storage while maintaining a clean and uncluttered facade The top is in very good condition, slightly lighter than the rest of the wood, which creates a pleasing contrast and remains consistent with its age.
