Product description
An unusually slender Scheurich vase lamp from the Kosmos series, where form, color, and motif complement each other beautifully. The original West German Pottery vase bears the form number 263-15 and comes from Scheurich's characteristic ceramic production. The rectangular vase body, only 6 cm deep, almost resembles a ceramic painting when viewed from the front. The vibrant red glaze is traversed by a three-dimensional, abstract floral relief, in whose recesses darker tones collect. Typical of the 1960s/70s – graphic, decorative, and yet surprisingly modern. I deliberately chose an oval lampshade rather than a round one. Its proportions echo the shallow shape of the vase and extend it upwards. The shade is covered with a light linen fabric featuring stylized firefish. The coral red of the print picks up the color of the ceramic, while the light background provides a beautiful contrast to the intense glaze. A red trim at the top and bottom further connects the shade and vase. The linen fabric changes the design when the lamp is switched on: the light shines softly through the weave, making the lionfish stand out clearly. The vase was converted into a lamp without any drilling. The original Scheurich ceramic retains its collector's value completely, and the conversion is reversible. Cordless and flexible, the table lamp is wireless and therefore doesn't require a fixed location next to a power outlet. It can be placed on a sideboard, shelf, bedside table, or dining table, and in summer, it can even be taken out onto a balcony or patio. The rechargeable LED light source is charged via USB-C and conveniently controlled by remote.
