Loetz iridescent orange and pink glass vase, made in the 1950s. Diameter 10 cm, height 11 cm. Loetz is a name that immediately evokes images of blown glass of extraordinary beauty and sophistication. This Austrian glassworks, founded in 1839, produced some of the most iconic Art Nouveau works, becoming an international benchmark for glass art. The history of Loetz is characterized by a continuous pursuit of perfection and constant innovation in glass processing techniques. Loetz master glassmakers experimented with various techniques, including *intarsia*, which involves embedding glass fragments within the molten glass mass. The production is known for the iridescence of its works, a technique that imparts metallic and iridescent vitreous reflections, creating highly suggestive visual effects. Furthermore, the artifacts are created using the "Phänomen" technique, which involves applying metallic glass filaments to the surface of the glass, creating unique luminous effects. The design of Loetz's works is characterized by sinuous lines, organic forms, and floral decorations, typical of the Art Nouveau style.
