Product description
This is a very rare industrial clock produced by Figaro company in the 1950’s. It was sourced from the legendary Zbrojovka armaments manufacturer in Brno, shortly before the demolition of its factories. The incredible history of Zbrojovka factory goes back to 1916 when it was founded as a small artillery producer. At the beginning the production at Zbrojovka focused mainly on rifles and light machine guns – which gained an excellent reputation around the world but soon started also producing motorcycles, cars and later iconic Zetor tractors. This clock was placed in one of the Zbrojovka workshop and was operating until the closure of the factory in 2006. It has a lime green metal frame, with the display protected by glass. The light green colour contrast nicely with the distinctive black colour numbers and metal clock hands. The central Figaro Company logo just adds to the unique graphic style of the whole piece. This clock was originally plug in directly to electric site but for easier and practical domestic use has been converted into a battery-powered clockwork and will work on just 1 x AA battery. It will operate as an independent wall clock and is a great addition to various interior styles. Overall the clock is in good vintage condition with some visible wear on the clock face and the steel frame gained from its use in the factory over the years. Instead of restoring the existing worn surface or repainting the metal frame, we wanted to keep the unique history and character of the piece and celebrate the great patina acquired over the years.
