Miniature and charming, this barbotine liqueur set belongs to that category of objects no longer made: entirely handcrafted table pieces, where each element imitates nature with a freedom and whimsy that industrial productions have never managed to recapture. The decanter is designed in the shape of a blooming tulip. Its rounded body, modeled in relief to evoke petals, is covered with a flamboyant glaze in orange, red, yellow, and green tones. The handle and neck are shaped like a green stem, and the stopper takes the form of an orange flower bud. Two small buds punctuate the neck, adding an extra touch of whimsy to the composition. The four cups replicate the same tulip bud shape, with their small green handles. Placed together, they form a perfectly coherent and decorative set with the decanter. Barbotine, a ceramic technique consisting of applying clay paste in relief before firing, gives these pieces their particular texture and volume. The flamboyant glaze, with its warm and irregular colors, is very characteristic of popular French ceramic production from the 1950s. The decanter measures approximately 13-14 cm in height. The set is in very good condition, with a shiny glaze and no chips. A model number is visible on the reverse of the decanter.
