Rare roll-up screen produced by Jomain Baumann in the 1940s, reflecting French craftsmanship in bentwood furniture. Made of slender vertical wooden slats joined together, it rolls into a compact cylinder when closed. The gently shaped upper edge softens its linear structure. Renowned for bamboo and rattan furniture between the wars, Baumann combined artisanal skill with technical ingenuity, creating light yet functional designs.
