A great example of early 20th-century Scandinavian modernism combined with superb craftsmanship, this vintage Funkis chest of drawers in oak dates to the 1930s; a period defined by clarity of form and functional elegance. The piece embodies the principles of the Functionalist (Funkis) movement, where ornament is minimized in favor of clean lines, balanced proportions, and honest materials. The warm oak highlights the natural grain of the wood, lending subtle texture to its otherwise streamlined silhouette. The cabinets construction shows superb craftsmanship, also the dovetail joints in the drawers are completely done by hand; a testament to the superb craftsmanship and enduring quality of its making.
