Original 1930s Bauhaus table lamp from Czechoslovakia, distinguished by its compact proportions, geometric construction and characteristic Machine Age aesthetic. Executed in nickel-plated metal, the lamp combines a circular stepped base with a cylindrical central body and broad hemispherical dome shade. The resulting mushroom-like silhouette reflects the functionalist principles and fascination with industrial materials that defined European Modernist design between the wars. The domed shade directs illumination downward toward the base, creating an atmospheric pool of light while emphasizing the polished metallic surfaces and strong architectural geometry of the piece. Compact yet visually distinctive, the lamp works beautifully as a bedside lamp, desk lamp, console light or sculptural decorative object and pairs particularly well with Bauhaus, Art Deco, Machine Age and contemporary interiors. The nickel-plated surfaces have been carefully repolished, retaining minor signs of use and age appropriate to an authentic 1930s piece. The electrical components have been renewed.
