Original Czechoslovakian mid-century design chair from 1967, designed by Antonín Šuman for the state-owned MIER (národný podnik Topoľčany, Lučenec plant).
This listing is for the yellow chair.
Several chairs with the same fabric are available upon request.
This chair model is one of the most influential designs of post-war Eastern European design. Its striking feature is the organically curved backrest made of veneered walnut with the characteristic teardrop/keyhole cutout.
Both chairs have been professionally and completely restored in a Berlin workshop. The wood surfaces were stripped of applied layers and refinished. The seats have been completely reupholstered with extremely durable premium contract fabrics from Delius.
The original factory label from 1967 is intact on the underside and serves as complete proof of provenance.
