The leather is naturally grown – strong, firm, durable, yet soft and supple. Unique in its pattern of pores, grain, and surface texture – it boasts exceptional longevity and lasting value. It is one of the most expensive leathers!
A little leather lesson: "Not all leather is created equal!"
Please do not compare this leather with leather that has been artificially grained. Artificially grained leather is made by pressing the lower layers of the animal hide (split leather) through heated steel rollers. The rollers have a surface designed to mimic the natural grain of leather, creating an artificial grain (embossing) on the originally smooth leather through pressure and heat. This artificially grained leather is very often used in leather furniture offered at so-called bargain prices, producer prices, direct purchase prices, etc. (often Chinese goods) on Amazon and similar platforms, as well as in upholstery stores. It is also frequently used in brand-name furniture in the lower and middle price segments. This does not guarantee high quality; it is by no means a quality seal but simply indicates that it is not synthetic leather!
The leather is characterized by a fairly high degree of wear; with normal use, the grain disappears after some time. It also feels cold and often quite rubbery due to the heavy application of dye. The difference in quality is also reflected in the price. Tanneries sell it for only about a third of the price of high-quality leather, as it is essentially considered reject or third-rate goods.
Color:
cognac / teak (dark brown with a beautiful reddish tint and natural color nuances)
Note: The photos are overexposed to show the pristine condition in detail. This makes reddish tones appear redder and colors generally lighter. The shadowed areas and those not directly illuminated by the camera light best represent the true colors.
For connoisseurs: As with velvet, areas of hide pulled against the grain or creases of the cowhide appear as faint shadows or elongated "lines" depending on the viewing angle. In reality, this effect is barely noticeable due to the 3D vision of the human eye.
Dimensions:
W: 62.5 cm; D: 52 cm; H: 80 cm; Seat height: 44 cm; Seat depth: 47 cm
Condition:
One word says it all: "Mint condition." This is restoration at its finest! And here, as is so often the case with our products, you can search the world over, but you won't find this chair anywhere else—not even close—in this condition!
